How to Register on SAM.gov Without Losing a Month
What SAM.gov actually requires, the identifiers you need in hand first, and the mistakes that trigger rejections.
SAM.gov registration is free, mandatory to receive federal awards, and unforgiving about mismatched information. Most delays come from data that does not match across systems.
Gather these first
- Exact legal business name and physical address as filed with the state
- EIN exactly as it appears on IRS records
- Bank routing and account numbers for electronic funds transfer
- NAICS codes describing what you actually sell
- PSC codes for federal product and service classification
Where registrations fail
Name or address mismatches between your state filing, your IRS record, and your entity validation documents are the top cause of rejection. A single abbreviation difference can stall the process.
After UEI and CAGE
Registration alone does not win work. Build a one-page capability statement, register with state systems such as the Texas CMBL, and research active solicitations in your codes before bidding.
We provide SAM.gov registration assistance, NAICS and PSC research, capability statement design, and bid-readiness consulting. Contract awards are made solely by government agencies.
